Chenrezig and Mandala are two separate entity in Tibetan Thangka. Chenrezig is considered the patron Bodhisattva of Tibet. He is famous in Tibetan Buddhism as the incarnation of the compassion of all the Buddhas, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
Whereas, Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in the Indian religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism representing the universe.
